New Editorial Board Members, July 2016

JAMA Surgery is pleased to announce the appointment of Quan-Yang Duh, MD, and Kamal M. F. Itani, MD, to our Editorial Board.

Quan-Yang Duh, MD

Quan-Yang Duh, MD, received his bachelor of science in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University and his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where he also completed his general residency training and fellowship in endocrine surgery. Dr Duh is professor of surgery and chief of the Section of Endocrine Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. His research interests include minimally invasive endocrine surgery and diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands and pancreas.

Kamal M. F. Itani, MD

Kamal M. F. Itani, MD, received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He completed his residency training in general surgery and a fellowship in gastrointestinal surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and a research fellowship in gastrointestinal physiology at Duke University. After a 10-year tenure on the faculty in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas, Dr Itani became chief of surgery at the Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System, professor of surgery at Boston University, and faculty member at Harvard Medical School. His research interests are in the fields of health services, surgical infection prevention, and abdominal wall reconstruction.
